VARIETY: Champagne
PHILOSOPHY: Small Producer
VINE: 100% Pinot Meunier
Powerful, elegant, structured, and fleshy, this champagne reveals aromas of yellow fruit, flavors of vanilla, and cinnamon. The old vineyard is thus an ode to the Meunier grape, transcending its terroir and expertise to offer sensory nuances worthy of noble dishes and figures.
Dom Caudron Champagne has its roots in Passy-Grigny, a village in the Marne Valley where a famous priest, Aimé Caudron, had a visionary and promising idea... This generous epicurean was an iconic figure in viticulture in this Marne Valley village.
The winemakers of Passy-Grigny lived by selling their grapes without harvesting them, so Dom Caudron inspired them to join forces in 1929.
Since then, they have combined their expertise to create a gourmet Champagne that everyone enjoys. The Caudron priest became the embodiment of their Champagne, allowing them to continue enjoying wines made entirely from Meunier grapes and the winemakers themselves.
Pinot Meunier has remained the signature grape of these winemakers. Their profound knowledge of the original grape variety has given rise to a range of Champagnes that reveal its fruity personality in all its forms, from the simplest to the most complex. The vineyard originally covered 12 hectares. Today, it extends over 130 hectares on the slopes of the Marne Valley.
