Bolgheri

Bolgheri red wines tell about the splendid territory on the Etruscan coast in Tuscany. These wines revolutionized the sector at the end of the sixties, both for the use of international grape varieties (merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, plus small parts of petit verdot and syrah), sometimes added to sangiovese, and for the use of small French oak barrels, barriques.

Wines from Bolgheri Cypress Street have recognizable organoleptic characteristics, marked by very intense aromas and smooth sip, which can be matched with red meat and game.

This prestigious area is linked to Sassicaia, a wine which made the history of the territory, thanks to the farsightedness of Marquis Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, who wanted to create a great wine in Bordeaux style. Today Tenuta San Guido, whose name derives from Saint Guido della Gherardesca who lived in the thirteenth century, is the most renowned winery in the world in the Bolgheri area, located along the Etruscan coast which goes from Livorno to Grosseto, in the Tuscan Maremma.

Besides Sassicaia, there are many small wineries in the area which produce spectacular wines with a quality-price ratio definitely more balanced and Max is very happy to share with you this unusual selection
