I personally tasted the 2019 vintage at a private tasting, and I must say it's a spectacle worth purchasing and enjoying at a special time.
It's a bottle of excellence that evokes unique emotions.
The Petra Toscana Rosso from the Petra winery is produced in vineyards on the ferrous hills of the Val di Cornia, in the ancient village of Suvereto.
It is made with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, harvested between late August and mid-September. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts and vinification takes place in oak vats. The wine then ages in temperature-controlled barriques for 18 months, followed by a further 18 months in bottle before being released for sale.
It features a garnet red color with intense, luminous hues. The nose is deep, complex, and persistent. The palate is full-bodied, with aromas of black fruits and pleasant nuances of morello cherry, enriched by spicy notes of rosemary, myrtle, and coffee.
