VARIETY: Super TuscanPHILOSOPHY: Small Producer
GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Melot
Quercegobbe takes its name from the vineyard that produces it, located on the edge of the Mediterranean scrub and facing the sea. An ideal position for Merlot, which prefers hilly terrain and breezy climates. Its rows, planted in 1997, are located in the vineyards closest to the winery. This proximity is both ideal and physical, as Merlot is Francesca Moretti's favorite wine, the field in which she has chosen to test her intuition, knowledge, and planning, both hers and those of her winery team. Petra's Toscana Merlot IGT "Quercegobbe" is an elegant and vigorous red, vinified in oak vats and subsequently aged in various-sized wood barrels, both used once and twice.
Intense ruby red with vibrant hues. On the nose, it reveals rich aromas of red fruit, with subtle spicy notes and balsamic hints of myrtle and eucalyptus. Remarkably elegant on the palate, thanks to its fresh savory character and pronounced minerality, it is deep on the palate, with fine, silky tannins. Body and acidity are clearly evident and, above all, well-balanced. The finish is long, vigorous, and harmonious.
